The Nova College in Haarlem has new energy-neutral Care education building and a multifunctional pavilion on its campus. Both were designed by Paul de Ruiter Architects . In addition, the office has redesigned the campus in collaboration with ZUS [Zones Urbaines Sensibles].
In addition to the new buildings, the renewed Nova Campus consists of the existing main building of the Nova College, a regional training center at MBO level. The Care building, which covers six thousand square meters, houses the Care and Welfare courses, which together account for approximately 1,200 students. Paul de Ruiter designed the interior in collaboration with Firm architects.
The study plazas, theory and practice rooms in the building are tailored to the specific needs of each study program. For example, the building has a completely reconstructed doctor and dental practice, and various nursing departments in which real care situations can be simulated. The practice room for pharmacist's assistant is also structured as a lifelike pharmacy with a pharmacy counter specially designed for the training.
